Lidlington Man attacked in his home

Posted 15 May 2007.
Bedfordshire Police are appealing for witnesses, after a burglar assaulted a man, in his village home, in Lidlington. The incident happened on Thursday the 10th of May, at 1:15 in the morning, in Ampthill Road, in Lidlington. The owner was woken by the sound of breaking glass. He went down stairs to investigate and was confronted by a man. He was punched and threatened, and forced to give the offender a wallet. The victim did not need hospital treatment, but was extremley shocked by what had happened. The offender was a Black male, 5 foot 10 in height, in his mid thirties, and spoke with a west indian accent.
It is possible that the offender discarded the wallet, after removing the contents.
Although this type of crime is rare, if you suspect that a burglar has entered your home, do not attempt to confront the offender, and call the police immediately. If you have any information about this crime, please call the Investigating Officer, Vicki Gibson, on (01582) 473325. Or call Crimestoppers in confidence on (0800)555111.
