  • If you fancy a tour of the area then a good starting point is the Bedfordshire Scenic Route leaflet, available at many of the local Libraries. Alternatively visit Let's Go for masses of information about walks, country parks, rides and nature reserves in Bedfordshire.

  • Lidlington is on the Greensand Ridge Walk. This 40 mile walk between Leighton Buzzard and Gamlingay passes through many picturesque Bedfordshire villages.

  • The Forest of Marston Vale, which surrounds the village, covers many square miles. Marston Vale Millennium Country Park and Forest Centre is within walking distance Lidlington and is ideal for cycling, running or walking.

  • Why not try the nearby Stewartby Lake? This large expanse of water was a clay pit in the 1930s and with its long circular walk is used by boats both powered and those under sail. It is also sometimes the venue for British Power Boat racing.

  • For a more relaxing time a few miles further north is Bedford, our county town. The rowing club also has its annual regatta, the only carnival with a higher attendance in England is the London Notting Hill Carnival.

  • For those interested in Bedford you can check out the Bedford Football, Rowing, and Rugby Clubs.

  • Other Bedfordshire villages include Woburn Sands and Maulden.

  • The Millbrook Proving Ground is nearby and you can see Lidlington in the photograph on their home page.

  • Nearby places of interest include Woburn with its Abbey and Safari Park along with countless restaurants and golf course.

  • Other towns in the area include Cranfield with its University, small airport, and the Nissan Design Center, one of the most advanced in Europe! Politically Lidlington is under Mid Bedfordshire District Council, near Bedford Borough Council and Luton Borough Council.

  • Nearby Bletchley is home of the worlds first electronic computer which was built at Bletchley Park for decoding encrypted messages during the Second World War.
